Central Subsidy — Common to All States

Under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana launched by the Government of India in Feb 2024, every eligible residential household gets a direct capital subsidy credited to their bank account after installation. The amount depends on system capacity:

Bihar — Central + State Top-up

Bihar offers an additional state subsidy on top of the Central PM Surya Ghar grant.

Bihar State top-up is valid for systems commissioned on or before 31 March 2027.

Who's eligible

  • Indian citizen with a residential property in Bihar.
  • Valid electricity connection with your Bihar DISCOM (NBPDCL / SBPDCL).
  • Rooftop with adequate shadow-free area (≈100 sq.ft per kW).
  • Family has not previously received a PM Surya Ghar subsidy.

Jharkhand — Central Subsidy

PM Surya Ghar Central subsidy is applicable in Jharkhand through JBVNL as the implementing DISCOM.

Any Jharkhand state-level top-up is subject to the Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (JREDA) notification. Please contact ASR for current eligibility — we track every policy update and will apply any state top-up you qualify for.

Installation Process & Terms

  1. Free site survey — ASR engineer visits, measures rooftop and verifies load.
  2. DISCOM registration — we file your PM Surya Ghar application on the national portal.
  3. Quotation & agreement — ₹100 stamp paper agreement on project kick-off.
  4. Material & installation — Tata / Waaree / Vikram panels installed within 10–15 days.
  5. Net metering — DISCOM-approved bi-directional meter commissioned.
  6. Subsidy credit — Central (and Bihar state, if applicable) subsidy credited to your bank account within 30 days of inspection.
